ІПМЕ ім. Г.Є. Пухова НАН України досяг успіхів в області розвитку теорії і методів математичного та електронного моделювання фізичних та інформаційних процесів в енергетичних і енергоємних системах на основі сучасних досягнень прикладної математики і машинних обчислень.
Наукова діяльність Інституту визначається наступними основними напрямами:
• дослідження фундаментальних проблем електроенергетики і теоретичної електротехніки;
• аналіз і синтез складних електричних ланцюгів і систем, включаючи нелінійні процеси в них;
• дослідження процесів, що швидко протікають, в енергетиці, розробка з цією метою методів побудови проблемно-орієнтованих моделюючих систем;
• розробка методів моделювання і застосування засобів обчислювальної техніки в енергетиці і інших галузях народного господарства.
Результати наукових досліджень Інституту впроваджені і продовжують впроваджуватися в різних галузях народного господарства: енергетиці, нафтової і газової промисловості, приладобудуванні, машинобудуванні, енерго-, машинобудівній галузі, електронній промисловості тощо.
Pukhov Institute for Modeling in Energy Engineering, NAS of Ukraine, has been successful in the development of theory and methods of mathematical and computer modeling of physical and information processes in energy and power systems based on modern achievements in applied mathematics and computer calculations.
The scientific activity of the Institute is determined by the following specialisms:
• the study of fundamental problems of power engineering and theoretical electrical engineering;
• analysis and synthesis of complex electric circuits and systems, including nonlinear processes;
• the study of fast flowing processes in power engineering;
• the development of the methods of construction of problem oriented simulating systems for this purpose;
• the development of the methods of simulation and application of computer science facilities in power engineering and other branches of national economy.
Many results of researches in the Institute are promoted and continue to be introduced in various branches of the Ukrainian national economy: power engineering, oil and gas industries, instrument-making, mechanical engineering, energy machine building, electronic industry etc.
